Alignment Achieved: Gevulot and Aligned

Aligned is a proof verification and aggregation layer developed on top of the EigenLayer using restaking. This will enable cost-effective verification of any SNARK proof, leveraging Ethereum validators' security without the limitations of Ethereum. The ZK Endgame is one step closer with Gevulot and Aligned able to service a multitude of clientele through their joint offering of proof generation and verification. Together, the pair are aimed at bringing the compute and cost overhead of verifiability to approach zero.
Both Gevulot and Aligned softly compete with Ethereum’s capacity to verify proofs. It is a very light competition since Aligned users will use ETH to pay for fees, and the results will be posted back in Ethereum L1. Gevulot’s verification comes with proof generation automatically, but for additional security guarantees and trustlessness, it can also be outsourced to verification layers, such as Aligned. Aligned is faster and cheaper when performing certain operations, and it is deeply connected to Ethereum, thanks to EigenLayer.
Aligned will receive requests for proof verifications from Gevulot clients looking to further decentralize their verification process. In this case, the proof and public input are stored in a DA layer, such as one provided by our partners like Avail or 0G Labs. Validators fetch each proof and its corresponding public input, perform the validation, and sign a message with the verification results, which they then send to the aggregator. If more than two-thirds of the validators reach consensus on a result, the aggregator posts the results in a smart contract on Ethereum. Once a sufficient number of proofs have been verified, the recursive verification of pairs of proofs in a tree structure is performed. This process compresses all proofs into a single proof, which is then sent to Ethereum for final verification.
With Gevulot’s Firestarter, the prover network mainnet, soon approaching in July, and Aligned’s testnet already underway, this alignment offers a groundbreaking integration, engineered to offer developers a streamlined and intuitive environment for deploying zk rollups. With this solution, the focus shifts away from infrastructure complexities and high costs, allowing innovators to prioritize their creative endeavors. It's a game-changer, enabling developers to unleash their potential without the burden of overhead.
“A combination of efficient proving markets and zk verification layers is fundamental to reduce costs, make the ecosystem more robust and provide the foundations for the future of zk.” - Roberto José (RJ) Catalán, Co-founder of Aligned
