We're excited to announce our collaboration with Snapchain to scale cost-effective ZK Rollups-as-a-Service using Gevulot’s efficient decentralized proving layer. Snapchain stands out as a platform for ZK-Rollup-as-a-Service, facilitating internet-scale dApps. It's a secure platform providing the necessary tools to host and expand private decentralized networks without compromising on security, catering to everything from fully on-chain games to transaction-intensive DeFi apps through their Rollup as a Service (Raas) Platform. Gevulot's optimization significantly reduces prover costs, thereby empowering Snapchain’s zk rollups to dramatically cut down overhead expenditures.
Currently, the landscape of provers leans heavily towards centralization, often relying on a single prover for multiple applications. While this approach simplifies matters, it also presents limitations. Gevulot, serving as a decentralized prover layer fine-tuned for proof generation and verification, tackles these challenges by introducing a consensus-based approach to prover coordination. This approach not only matches centralized services in performance but also offers substantial cost reductions as a core advantage.
This integration opens avenues for businesses and developers focused on constructing validity or privacy rollups to seamlessly utilize Gevulot’s provers and verifiers through Snapchain’s user-friendly platform. Their recent release, PanGu, a public-good testnet and zk-validium L2 developed using Polygon’s CDK stack, serves as an ideal client for mitigating fee structures. This instance illustrates just one of many zk rollups poised to benefit from early-stage cost reductions crucial in a project’s lifecycle.
Rollup-as-a-Service ventures promise widespread application-specific zk rollups tailored for diverse use cases. However, the major hurdle to realizing this vision lies in the high costs associated with proving and verification, which are uniform across the board, from fledgling projects to well-established ones. By leveraging Gevulot to drive down the expenses linked with proving and verification, RaaS providers such as Snapchain can deliver economically feasible solutions to a broader range of industry participants, thereby contributing to the reduction of cost structures for their existing clientele.
“Snapchain is a modular RaaS solution specialized in ZK. It aggregates various service providers, including Gevulot, the decentralized prover network, to help other organizations customize their zkEVM L2s in a way that meets their specific needs. By abstracting away the complexities of integrating with multiple modular components and the DevOps overhead for managing the blockchain core infrastructure, our clients can focus on growing their own L2 ecosystems." - Zidong Zhang
